USB Air Purifier and Ionizer

USB Air Purifier and Ionizer: "If your coworker in the next cube has an odor somewhere between a puddle of urine in the subway and the Antichrist, click on the link as fast as humanly possible. This USB powered air purifier provides a breath soothing freshness that's so desperately missing from corporate America today. At a price of $20, it's money well spent to avoid a day in sensitivity training after you bludgeon Steve over the head with his own keyboard.

Solar-Powered Implant: Cure for Blindness?

Solar-Powered Implant: Cure for Blindness?: "Combining hardware with human bodies gains even more traction with these solar-powered retinal implants that spray a neurotransmitter substance onto retinal cells, restoring sight to the blind. There are no batteries required, either, because the whole thing is solar powered.

The tiny 1.5mm chip flexes in response to low intensity light, stimulating nerves that send visual info on to the brain. The actuator has now been built by engineer Laxman Saggere of the University of Illinois at Chicago; no word on when we'll see this technology implemented in the real world.

Perific Ergonomic Mouse Keeps Hands From Breaking

Perific Ergonomic Mouse Keeps Hands From Breaking: "Remember the days of the square-shaped mouse with only two rectangular buttons, with not a mouse wheel in sight? Those things were pretty torturous to use for any extended period of time, mainly because of their unforgiving design.

Perific hopes to eliminate that problem with a new wireless mouse/trackball that forgoes feature bloat in favor of giving your hands a comfortable user experience. The Perific Ergonomic Mouse & Trackball secret to success is that it can be used in a whole bunch of manners, ensuring that your hand isn't making the same gestures and movements over and over again. Remove its shell and it becomes a normal mouse, but movement is done via the trackball and you can hold it in a variety of different positions.

Further making it easier on your hands, there's two sets of buttons on either side of the mouse, so you can use it in either mode (with or without shell). The mouse designed to keep your hands free from crippling pain costs $119.

Iljin Display Develops Coin-Sized Laser Projector Module

Iljin Display Develops Coin-Sized Laser Projector Module: "South Korean company Iljin Display expects that many cellphones will be equipped with projectors in the future, and it's giving manufacturers an easy way to embed such devices inside with a laser video projector module. The company has shown a few different prototypes of the tiny projectors, saying that 7-inch images can be projected on a wall.

No word on how efficient the projector bulb will be, but we're thinking there's not going to be a lot of battery life left after projecting a few clips with this thing. Plus, when you think about it, a 7-inch image is not all that big. Might as well watch it on a PSP.
